a view of buildings at StrathmoreThis self-catering accommodation is in a most beautiful and peaceful part of north west Sutherland, less than two hours drive from Inverness.  It is situated near the foot of Ben Hope, the most northerly Munro.  The village of Altnaharra is eleven miles away.

The self-catering accommodation is in a wonderful area for sportsmen looking for fishing and deer stalking, bird watching, hill walking and also for general touring.view to Ben Hee

There is an abundance of wildlife and the whole area is a geologist’s paradise.  Golf courses and magnificent clean sandy beaches are all within reach.

The accommodation includes a traditional, wood-lined Stalkers Lodge which provides comfortable sleeping for 4/5 people, and also a modern Annex which sleeps two people.  Both are well equipped and offer amazing views of Ben Hope, the Strathmore River and the surrounding open landscape.

The estate also supports a sheep farm and a herd of beef suckler cows together with pedigree Highland Ponies.

On maps the Lodge is marked as Alltnacaillich, Gaelic for the Burn of the Old Woman!
